Estate Planning

Departing this life is not something any of us want to spend time contemplating. Indeed the fear which can result from this topic leads many to forego planning for what will happen to their property and assets after they die. As uncomfortable as it may be, planning for what happens to what you own now is far better than leaving this for those who remain to sort out.

If a person does not plan for the disposition of their estate, they cannot guarantee that money or possessions they might want a certain individual or group to receive will actually be disposed of as they wish. If a person dies without a will, a state’s laws of “intestacy” apply to much of their personal property. Each state has laws that determine what happens to the property of a person who dies without a will, and they automatically come into force at the time of such a person’s death.

Brody doesn’t enjoy discussing this topic either, but he has a will. Making a will doesn’t in any way hasten your departure from this world! It does however ensure that your money and property will go where you want it to in the event that your death occurs, and avoids the laws of intestate succession being triggered by your death. Brody is ready to help you address your estate planning needs today.
